
Local Health Department Face Job Losses and Program Cuts
Nevada's public health programs and local health departments —the front line protecting the public’s health—are severely strained by increasing budget and workforce cuts to the point that they are being forced to eliminate or reduce vital programs.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) surveyed a sample of local health departments (LHDs) nationwide in the months of July and August 2009 to measure the impact of current economic conditions.
