Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA)
In January 2021, NPHF committed to working with various partners in the 15 rural counties of Nevada to help educate and create CARA plans of care for mothers giving birth to drug-exposed babies. During execution of this contract, our team has worked with various local partners to achieve the following goals.
Identified Resources in Rural Communities – We partnered with CARA workgroups to identify which resources were available in Nevada and where more resources were needed.
Created Plans of Action – Our team created a CARA Plan of Action flow chart for each rural birthing hospital in the state of Nevada.
Educated Partners – NPHF educated DCFS rural social workers and hospitals on their roles in the CARA project.
