Tina Gerber-Winn

Health Policy and Community Engagement Specialist

Tina Gerber-Winn joined the team at Nevada Public Health Foundation in March of 2023 as a health policy specialist.  She has since expanded her role to community engagement. She previously served the State of Nevada as a social worker in a variety of roles, including an Elder Abuse Investigator, a Medicaid policy developer, a program manager for community-based services designed to assist elders and people with disabilities remain independent, and a director of the behavioral health system providing services in rural and frontier Nevada. Tina is intrigued by the development and successful operations of systems of care.

Tina considers herself a Native Nevadan despite being born in Salinas, California. After a brief stay in California, Tina’s family returned when she was two and settled in Carson City. She is a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Portland State University. Her favorite memories are of traveling across rural Nevada with her family and for work as every road traveled had such unique and beautiful landscapes.
